Kolomenskoe
(state art, history and architecture, nature and palace-and-park museum preserve)

Kolomenskoe is situated in the southern part of Moscow . The pearl of the Palace-and-Park ensemble is the unique snow-white Church of the Ascension, built in 1932.
The collection includes the following exhibits: archeology, ancient Russia 's painting, carving, books and Russian tiles. Interesting samples of wooden buildings are also collected here.
Also the architectural complex has on its grounds many outstanding monuments, such as the round church-and-belfry of St. George the Victorious built in the West European style, the Church of the Kazan Mother of God with a palatial belfry at some distance, the Water Tower, which also served as a gate.
Kolomenskoe lies in the lap of a luxuriant park with a lime-tree alley and a relict oak grove on gently slopping hills, some of the trees are 600 to 800 years old!
